We are proud to be supporters of our chosen charity Dorothy House Hospice, who provide expert care and skill to look after patients in our communities. This month, we were delighted to help them launch a new fund raising campaign called ‘Pay for a Day’
Pay for a Day is a unique chance for businesses, families and individuals to fund 24 hours of the running costs of hospice care. Everything that Dorothy House does for its patients is for free, but it can only deliver this much needed care through donations.
The campaign was launched at a drinks reception on 12th September at the Dorothy House hospice near Bradford on Avon. Our Director Stuart Pearce was invited to speak at the event to outline why we support such a worthy cause.
Addressing the audience, he said:
“Journey4 is all about working with our clients to put the customer at the heart of everything they do. This is exactly what Dorothy House does too. I have seen this first hand with the fantastic care they provided my mother in 2003.
“The Pay for a Day scheme is hugely motivating for us as a team. Knowing that our contribution will help support a day’s care, while getting involved in fundraising activities and volunteering in the future as well. “
A Personal, Immediate Connection
As part of our community programme, We donate 1% of our profits to charity every year. While they have been for very worthy national charities in the past, we felt that it could be somewhat anonymous. Aside from the personal link, we felt that supporting a smaller charity with an immediate connection with its communities would make a tangible difference.
We were delighted to help launch the campaign alongside Wayne de Leeuw, Interim Chief Executive, Tony de Jaeger, Finance Director and Simon Coombe, Dorothy House Ambassador, pictured above left. Stuart is on the right.
The Hospice is ready to work with you to support you in your fundraising campaign or if you would like to make a single donation.
