Journey4 have been appointed by Network Rail to visualise what customer expectations might be in the future for the rail industry
The purpose is to create a medium and long-term planning framework which provides context for investment and operational decisions that need to be taken by Network Rails southern region operations team. This will act as a baseline for development of inputs to CP7 requirements.
This needs to be aligned with the known and emerging direction of trave for industry wide strategic goals; including those currently adopted by Network Rail, train operators and the requirements of the Williams-Shapps White Paper.
Jonathan Booth, Journey4 Director commented; “Our remit is to support and enable the Operations Strategy Director and the wider team to visualise what success for the business could look and feel like taking two reference years of 2035 and 2050. We look forward to engaging with senior leaders in the organisation to discuss mega trends in society and other influences on rail passengers in the future”.
This articulation will lead to the creation of a framework for the Operational Concept, with key success criteria identified – a blueprint which in essence defines how the business will work to deliver its committed outputs.
