Journey4 has been appointed by TransPennine Express (TPE) to assist them with developing their annual business plan, a continuation of the partnership that recently saw Journey 4 support TPE in undertaking a 100-day review of the business.
The TPE Franchise was taken into the Operator of Last Resort (Directly Operated Holdings Limited [DOHL]) on 28th May 2023 and Journey4 has supported the management team to undertake a 100-day review of the business, producing a Prospectus called ‘Making Journeys Better’, setting out the business’s plans for the future.
The ‘Making Journeys Better’ Prospectus focuses on three key simultaneous phases: 1) Stabilising operations to deliver better reliability and punctuality for customers, 2) Re-engaging with customers, colleagues and stakeholders, and 3) Transforming the operation and network underpinned by the Transpennine Route Upgrade.
TPE are starting a new chapter, and the continuation of Journey4’s support to the team will enable us to work together to ensure that the plans set out in the Prospectus are embedded in the business’s formal business plan, that will be developed in line with the Department for Transport’s annual process.
Graham Shorter, Managing Consultant commented “Our recent experience of working with train operators who have transitioned to OLR gives us a unique insight to be able to assist the management team at TPE. It has been great to see the positive industry feedback on TPE’s Prospectus and we’re really pleased to be continuing our partnership with the team in supporting the annual business plan process to put the Vision of the Prospectus into action.
