Each year we donate 1% of net profit to charities of our choice.
In addition, we spend 1 or 2 days per month supporting charitable and community-based activities.
We are delighted to be supporting Dorothy House Hospice Care for 2020/21 as our official charity.
Their mission is to ensure that everyone has access to outstanding palliative and end of life care. They provide compassionate support for people in our community with a life-limiting illness, with a focus on quality of life, helping patients to live well and die well.
They give care to patients and their families across a 700sq mile area, which includes Bath & North East Somerset (B&NES) and parts of Wiltshire and Somerset. Services are provided whenever and wherever they are needed; at home, in the Hospice, or at one of their outreach centres.
In previous years, we had supported national charities such as The British Heart Foundation and Prostate Cancer UK. These are, of course, very important charities that need support but we felt they were a little anonymous.
Dorothy House are a well established and professional charity, yet small enough for us to be able to make a difference and form a personal relationship.
We also have a personal connection to Dorothy House as they cared for the mother of one of our Directors, providing first-hand experience of the wonderful service they provide.
Everything that Dorothy House does for its patients is for free, but it can only deliver this much needed care through donations
In the short time since we announced our partnership, we have been able to get to know the organisation well and help them with their campaigns.
In addition to financial donations, we have used our time and our expertise to help with fund raising events such as “Pay for a Day” – a unique chance for businesses, families and individuals to fund 24 hours of the running costs of hospice care.
Journey4 is all about working with our clients to put the customer at the heart of everything they do. This is exactly what Dorothy House does too.
The Pay for a Day scheme is hugely motivating for us as a team. Knowing that our contribution will help support a day’s care, while getting involved in fundraising activities and volunteering in the future as well are all very important to us.
These are difficult and uncertain times with COVID-19. The only way we’ll get through them is by looking after our families, neighbours, and our wider community.
Dorothy House has launched a new campaign for you to gift anything from an hour of care to paying for one night for one bed for patient
